LUKE 8 - GOD DIDN'T LIGHT YOUR LAMP FOR YOU TO REMAIN HIDDEN!!!
Father, Son & Holy Spirit led me to Luke 8 today.
When a large crowd was gathering together, and people from city after city were coming to Him, He spoke [to them] using a parable: “The sower went out to sow his seed; and as he sowed, some fell beside the road and it was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the sky ate it up. And some seed fell on [shallow soil covering] the rocks, and as soon as it sprouted, it withered away, because it had no moisture. Other seed fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up with it and choked it out. And some fell into good soil, and grew up and produced a crop a hundred times as great.” As He said these things, He called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words.” Now His disciples began asking Him what this parable meant. And He said, “To you [who have been chosen] it has been granted to know and recognize the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that though seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand. “Now [the meaning of] the parable is this: The seed is the word of God [concerning eternal salvation]. Those beside the road are the people who have heard; then the devil comes and takes the message [of God] away from their hearts, so that they will not believe [in Me as the Messiah] and be saved. Those on the rocky soil are the people who, when they hear, receive and welcome the word with joy; but these have no firmly grounded root. They believe for a while, and in time of trial and temptation they fall away [from Me and abandon their faith]. The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, but as they go on their way they are suffocated with the anxieties and riches and pleasures of this life, and they bring no fruit to maturity. But as for that seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word with a good and noble heart, and hold on to it tightly, and bear fruit with patience. “Now no one lights a lamp and then covers it with a container [to hide it], or puts it under a bed; instead, he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come out into the open. So be careful how you listen; for whoever has [a teachable heart], to him more [understanding] will be given; and whoever does not have [a longing for truth], even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”
Luke 8:4-18 AMP
THOSE WHO KNOW THE WORD OF GOD (who have spiritual knowledge) WILL BE GIVEN MORE SPIRITUAL GIFTS WHILE THOSE WHO DO NOT (have spiritual knowledge) WILL LOSE WHAT THEY HAVE. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will] .." Hosea 4:6
JESUS EXPLAINED THE PARABLE OF THE SEED: THE SEED IS THE WORD OF GOD.
THE DEVIL COMES AND STEALS THE WORD OF GOD & FAITH FROM SOME PEOPLE ALONG THE PATH OF LIFE.. THEY THEREFORE DO NOT BELIEVE OR ACKNOWLEDGE JESUS IS THEIR SAVIOR. THEY ARE LOST.
SOME PEOPLE HEAR THE WORD & RECEIVE IT IN THE MOMENT .. BUT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY ROOT IN FAITH, THAT MOMENTARY BELIEF FADES AWAY QUICKLY AND AT THE FIRST TRIAL OR TEMPTAION THEY FALL AWAY FROM FAITH. THEY ARE TOSSED & TURNED IN THE STORMS OF LIFE WITH NO ANCHOR.
OTHER PEOPLE ARE SO CONSUMED BY THE FEARS & ANXIETIES OF THE WORLD AND THE RICHES & PLEASURES OF THE WORLD, THE WORD DOES NOT PRODUCE GOOD & RIPE FRUIT IN THEIR LIVES.
BUT PEOPLE WHO HEAR THE WORD OF GOD & HOLD FAST TO IT BELIEVING IT IS THE TRUTH, APPLICABLE TO THEIR DAILY LIVES & WHO APPLY IT ARE THE ONES WHO WILL STEADILY PRODUCE GOOD FRUIT WITH PATIENCE & PERSISTENT CULTIVATION OF THE SOIL OF THEIR HEARTS AND MINDS 🌱.
JESUS SAID .. JUDGE YOURSELF ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD AND BE CAREFUL HOW YOU LISTEN TO IT. WE ARE EACH ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE WORD. IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE HEARD & KEPT TO OURSELVES. BUT IT IS MEANT TO BE SHARED WITH OTHERS. ONCE YOU HAVE HEARD THE TRUTH OF GOD (which is His word), YOU HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO SHARE THAT TRUTH WITH OTHERS.
DON'T JUST BE A HEARER OF THE WORD. BE A DOER OF THE WORD. GOD DIDN'T LIGHT YOUR LAMP FOR YOU TO REMAIN HIDDEN.
THOSE WHO ARE MOST ROOTED IN THE WORD OF GOD, HAVE THE MOST UNSHAKABLE FAITH .. THEY WILL WEATHER THE COMING STORM & SPREAD THE LIGHT OF CHRIST TO THOSE WHO ARE LOST. IT IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO DO SO. IT IS THE GREAT COMMISSION FROM OUR SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.
IF YOU DIED TONIGHT IN YOUR SLEEP, ARE YOU CONFIDENT THAT YOU WOULD SPEND ETERNITY IN HEAVEN?
Jesus is the ONLY WAY!!!
BY ACKNOWLEDGING WITH YOUR WORDS (FROM YOUR HEART) THAT JESUS IS YOUR LORD & SAVIOR, YOU ARE SAVED FOR ALL ETERNITY.
GOD DOES NOT EXPECT US TO BE PERFECT, BUT HE REQUIRES THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT HIS SON IS THE CHRIST WHO CAME TO TAKE AWAY YOUR SINS & TO MAKE A WAY FOR YOU TO SPEND ALL ETERNITY IN HEAVEN WHEN YOUR LIFE HERE ON EARTH IS FINISHED.
IF YOU HAVE NOT MADE JESUS THE LORD OF YOUR LIFE, DON'T WAIT ANOTHER MINUTE SAY THIS PRAYER NOW (MUST BE SAID ALOUD):
Father God, I recognize I am a sinner. I come to you asking forgiveness of my sins. I confess in my heart and speak with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Your Son, and He died on the cross for my sins. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my heart, my soul and my life. I accept Jesus as my personal Savior and I praise You for making a way for me. I declare by the Blood of Jesus that I am saved. Jesus, I invite You into my life, and I pray You continue to reveal your LOVE to me by Your Holy Spirit. I ask You to have Your way with my life. I thank You for the new creation You have made me.
